Overview

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is an acute tertiary university-affiliated health care service that has a long, rich research history that covers all areas of acute and sub-acute adult medicine, as well as aged-care services. They have over 1400 clinical research studies currently active with over 600 clinical trials involving Drugs, Devices, Diagnostics and Digital Health interventions.

As part of St Vincent’s Health Australia, SVHM is the preferred site for commercial and collaborative clinical trials in Victoria, offering comprehensive services from Phase 1 to Phase 4 trials, as well as first-in-man studies. SVHM’s Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) is accredited under National Mutual Acceptance (NMA) and endorsed by the Victorian Government for early phase trials assessment, providing a nationally-credential ethical approval for human research across any clinical trial sites in Australia.

SVHM also offers a unique Research Valet™ Service supports all levels of clinical trials for staff and industry, providing sector-leading service that streamlines human research ethics submissions. With a competitive timeline of <30 days from initial meeting to final submission outcome, and 30+ years of experience between senior team members, this is a service second to none. The study does not need to include SVHM as a site to use the Valet Service and the SVHM HREC.
